And if you cant score goals then you won’t win the game it is just that simple. Most people think that in order to do a slap-shot, all you have to do is wind up and fire away at the puck. #1 Weight Distribution
While taking a slap-shot it is very important to be standing 3 inches away from the puck with your back foot pointing to the puck and your front foot facing in the direction you want to shoot the puck. When you are lifting your stick in the air you will want all your weight on your back foot, then when it is time to come down you will slowly transfer your weight to your front foot and, right when your stick hits the puck you should be stepping forward with your front foot with all your weight onto it. This will create momentum; witch in return creates a much powerful shot.
#2 Hand Placements
The way a player holds his stick while taking a slap-shot is extremely important. The hands must be firm and steady, in order to have a great slap-shot. The first hand should be at the top of your stick where the grip tape is, and your second hand should be in the middle of the shaft. Most of the power will come from your top hand.
